Power System Analysis
Overview

What we do

Power System Analysis by S&V Power Tech evaluates the performance, safety, and reliability of industrial and utility electrical networks under normal, transient, and contingency conditions. Every study is executed by senior consultants using industry-standard tools such as ETAP, PSCAD and CYME, and peer-reviewed against IEEE and IEC requirements before release.

Scope

What's covered

Load Flow Analysis

Evaluates system voltage, power flow, and equipment loading under normal and contingency operating conditions.

Short Circuit Analysis

Calculates fault currents to verify equipment ratings and ensure safe system design.

Motor Starting Analysis

Assesses voltage dip and system performance during the starting of large motors.

Protection Coordination Study

Optimizes relay and protective device settings to ensure selective and reliable fault isolation.

Arc Flash Study

Determines arc flash incident energy and defines safety requirements in accordance with IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.

Harmonic Analysis

Evaluates harmonic distortion levels and recommends mitigation measures to improve power quality.

Transient Stability Study

Analyzes system stability following faults, switching operations, and generator or grid disturbances.

Contingency (N-1) Analysis

Evaluates system reliability and performance following the loss of critical system components.

Power Quality Analysis

Identifies voltage disturbances, flicker, harmonics, and other power quality issues affecting system performance.

Cable Ampacity & Voltage Drop Analysis

Verifies cable current-carrying capacity and voltage drop to ensure safe and efficient operation.
